Another JF has come and gone at the Newark Int'l Airport Marriott. This year I was only a minimal attendee. No workshops classes, no demos, and didn't enter any models.
This year I just reconnected with some of the old (and new) friends in the hobby. And as usually I came home with a little loot.
Clockwise we start with Princes Leia from Good Fellas Resin.
To the right is a mini Chewie from McDevitt Studios for his Patreons.
Since you can never have enough werewolves, next is TC Quist from The Howling by Gillman Productions.
Lower right is Satan from the Twilight Zone episode "The Howling Man." This is another excellent bust by John Dennett's MoonDevil Studios.
To the left of him is a GOT's mini Danys also from Good Fellas.
Then I stumbled across this World War Toons tank from MENG gotten from Michigan Toy Co. I have an idea for a diorama that includes the tank in a new form. We'll probably see that in early 2020.
The final mini is a "trophy" figure of a wrestler, for scoring best on some of McDevitt's Patron Thursday Throwdowns.
One kit that I was looking for that didn't make it out in time was Silver screen Icons interpretation of Lucy from Bram stokers Dracula based on this scene -
I'll be keeping my eye open for that one. Thanks for looking.

New
I never think to post these as any models come in, but here's my latest additions.
I nice package came from Gillman Productions. In it came Caesar from the newest rendition of Planet of the Apes, The Sand Worm from dune, and a GK producer is starting (a hopefully long) run of celebs from Hollywood's heyday. The first one is Gary cooper as seen in Beau Geste.
Then my collection of Medusas grew by 2, with Atlantis Miniatures, and Zabavka Models entries.

Solar Panel Material?
While picking up a few things at a local Michaels, I found this glittery vinyl in the aisle where they sell Cricut cutters. It came in a few colors but the black drew my attention. Could it be used for solar panels on models?
It's called Siser Heat Transfer HTV. It's made for ironing on clothes, but I can't see why it could be used for gluing to styrene sheets or flat brass PE type stock.
Will report back when I try it.

Been a while since I posted my new stuff. Besides the pack of missiles for the Avatar build I score a Bandai B Wing - Comic Con exclusive. Now I have to determine if I should keep it or build it... Nah, I'll build it. I also scored a Shore Trooper from rogue One movie. I liked the look of these guys. This kit was pretty tough to get -
Next is a kit from sculptor Sean Kyle. It's a 1/4th bust of Bruce Spence, the Gyro Captain from Mad Max 2. Just odd enuff to interest me. Not shown is a propeller - the base is an engine - and a cigar and the shades on top of his goggles. -
Here's his pic in B&W just because it looks like it may have been the reference for the sculpt -
Finally is Wand Wilson - Lady Deadpool. I thought originally that this was just another attempt at R rated models. For a while sculptors were just putting breasts on all sorts of figures, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, Predator, etc... just a way to sell a sexy model. But no, she really exists in the comics. This is what looks like a really nice 3D print...

This time around I have 2 figures and another weird plane. Anyone who knows me, knows I like the weird or bizarre aviation. This one I saw covered in a recent issue of SAMI magazine. It's the Kalinin K-12. From a site:
I was able to get this kit from Ebay, coming all the way from the Ukraine.
Next up are two busts. Pan (from Pans Labyrinth) by Angels by Noemi, and can be gotten from her ETSY page.
And fans of horror knows this bust needs no intro - Peter Cushing as Baron Von Frankensten, by John Dennett, and MoonDevil studio. The Baron is the first in a set of busts of Hammer Film characters. The next one, which is already released and on it's way to me, is Christopher Lee as Frankenstein. But we'll see that next time. Til then here are the busts -
Experimental tailless bomber with two M-22 engines, yet another step on K.A.Kalinin's way towards his dream - rocket-powered supersonic flying wing aircraft. Light bomber carried crew of three.
Confidence in the K-12 was so high, that the experimental aircraft was included in Tushino parade fly-past on August 18, 1937. Painted in impressive feather-pattern, it was presented under nickname 'Zhar-ptitsa' (Fire-bird).
Ten K-12 were built, but production was cancelled when K.A.Kalinin became a victim of Stalin's purges.

The mailman has been making stops with boxes the past few days.
The first offering is the result of Aradia Miniatures Kickstarter campaign. eventually all these minis plus ones I didn't choose will be available on their site. Shipping is from Italy but as a customer for a few years, I've never had any problems with delivery.
The minis were based on the works from Dantes Inferno. Unlike other minis that are 1 or 2 parts, these come in many. So rather than opening the bag and taking a chance of losing parts, I decided to borrow images from the campaign. All these images are borrowed from Aradia in an effort for free advertising for them).
There were many excellent figures to choose from, but in the end I chose Charon the Boatman from Hades -
Next is The Gorgon. As a "fan of Medusa, I cannot have enough Medusa figures. The scene is complete with the warrior turned to stone, and her tail wrapped around him, crushing his figure.
While I never saw her with wings before ... it is what it is. :)
The third is Ulysses (and Diomedes). According to http://danteworlds.laits.utexas.edu -
All of the above models are 75mm. The one below, which IIRC, turned out to be a free bee (along with a model of a pile of bones) is 32mm.
Fourth is the lustful Paolo and Francesca. In Dante's Inferno, in the 2nd circle of hell known as Lust or The Carnal he calls to Francesca. It has been written that Dante was a contemporary of Francesca and might have even known her. As the story goes Francesca is married, but falls for Paolo, brother of her husband. When the husband catches them he goes to kill his brother, but Francesca steps in front and is killed by the sword. Horrified that he kills his wife, he also kills his brother. In the story Dante has the adulterous couple to hell. As a sidebar it is often thought that this was the basis for Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet which was written much later.
Enough story, here's the model -
Although the campaign is now over, you can see the other models available from this series HERE.
Leaving the Circles of Hell, we turn to a galaxy far away. From Megahobby I received Bandai's Blue Squadron Resistance X-Wing. The ship from Rogue 1, was most prominently featured in the climax Battle of Scarif. rogue 1, BTW, is in my top 3 Star wars movies.
Thanks for looking.

Dante's guide lists three offenses committed by Ulysses and Diomedes: devising and executing the stratagem of the wooden horse (an ostensible gift that--filled with Greek soldiers--occasioned the destruction of Troy); luring Achilles--hidden by his mother, Thetis, on the island of Skyros--into the war effort (for which Achilles abandoned Deidamia and their son); and stealing the Palladium--a statue of Athena which protected the city of Troy--with the help of a Trojan traitor, Antenor (Inf. 26.58-63).For this Dante sees them in the 8th circle. Here's the model -

New
Santa has been dropping boxes off for the past month. So I thought I share whats in the boxes. First I got it into my head that I can start making my own figures.
So besides signing up with Troy McDevitt's sculpting class thru Patreon,
I got myself a stand to help stead any future works of "art." ;)
Then there's a kit from Creepytables that looks a little like a certain caterpillar in a certain story about a certain girl in the 22cm size. ;)
I refound Monster Dork Studios on Etsy, and picked up his take on Cookie Monster - COOKIE!
Finally Space Cadet Models released kit #2, A kit of Pioneer 2 and 4. As of now Space Cadet is only on Facebook, but they have their page set to Public so no one has to join FB that doesn't want to just to have a look.
As a fan of the vintage space craft, I'm looking forward to getting to these.

New
With my creativity level low this month, I have been lurking around the Net finding some new subjects to spark my mood.
My first offering is from CGS Military Figures out of the UK and it's the companion to my recent Doc Holiday bust. It's Wyatt Earp. The kit is 200mm and comes in 10 parts: body, head, 2 arms, gun w/ hands, 2 hats, 2 flintlocks, and a pedestal. The likeness to Kurt Russell is not as good as the likeness of Doc was to Val Kilmer. But I guess with the low slung hat and the giant mustache, there's not a lot of room for facial recognition points.
Next is from my friend John Dennett at MoonDevil Studios. It's an aquatic monster John calls The Deep One. It's part of a series he has in relation to JP Lovecraft. This is a 6 part kit in a bubble free, nearly seam free resin. The parts fit together very nicely and only a minimum amount of putty will be needed to make the seams completely disappear.
The third one was a kit I was able to see in the making at the modeling/sculpting forum The Clubhouse. "Pat Morea" created The Rock show WIP on this forum as he went along. It looks to be 1/5 or more likely 1/4 full figure. The likeness is very good. but it looks like the mold slipped, and separated a bit below the waste. A bit of work will be needed to correct this.
My final offering for this installment is a kit from a miniatures Co., called Terrible Kids Stuff (TKS). The kit is a 75mm (1:24) kit called The Birth of Dracula. The scene depicts Vlad holding the lifeless body of Elisabeta, with his free hand up to his face in grief. I found it a very powerful scene.
The kit is a limited edition of 75 castings. On the site they guesstimated that it would be sold out in Aug., but when I ordered in October, and the kit came it had a certificate of authenticity numbered 70 of 75. So there is a small chance to get one.
It comes in 7 parts - Vlad's head/body/legs, Elisabeta's head/body, Vlad's upraised arm, his cape, Elisabeta's 2 dangling arms and a block base. The base also has a "base" in that extra material was used to lift the block floor off the ground. Nice touch. The model is exquisitely sculpted and cast; no bubbles and no apparent seam lines. The resin is the type you some time run across in Europe and SE Asia where there is a pretty strong petroleum smell, especially when one cuts or sands the resin. That aside, this is going to be a pleasure to build.
Thanks for looking.

This post is the after Jersey Fest article. Ooh boy, I went a little mad this year. It started off with one producer, who wanted to be there but couldn't because of Hurricane Irma, gave an "I can't make it" model sale. From him I picked up a Hellboy and Abe Sapien bust. When I got them I realized they were HUGE! Parts of them were also cast in a translucent resin to aid in lighting. I may just light them up.
At JerseyFest, it really was like a kid in a candy shop. But knowing I had the two kits above coming, I *tried* to calm myself.
Walking around I stopped at John Dennett and Paul Gill's tables. From John, he sold out of the "Take Me to Your Leader" kit-
but I did get his Ghoul -
From Paul's table I got the new Pennywise kit from the remake of IT -
Then in walking around I stopped at Goodfellas Resin, and picked up their terrific "Dragon Mother" bust. I like it because for whatever reason, many producers feel the need to have Daenery's kit in some stage of nudity. While I'm not a prude how many naked girls can you have on your model shelves...
At Troy McDevitt's table I picked up his mini Punisher bust from his comic book collection. The kits comes with stickers of comic books that correspond to each character. They fill up the blank spots on the stack base.
And finally there was a woman there with multiple casts of just two kits - a plaque that I don't remember, and an alien bust. You can never have too many aliens...
Thanks for looking.

New Aquisitions
Been busy buying again. :P This time around I start with something from my childhood. Way back there was a series of model kits from... I don't remember who, but I was scenes from Disney's amusement ride Pirates of the Caribbean. This was long before the movie.
Next kit is from from Gillman Productions - it's been dubbed as Old Logan. The kit is 5 pieces plus the base. Sculpted by Yeagher, so the likeness is awesome.
Thanks for looking.

New Aquisitions
Checking out my booty from the latest trip to the Nationals. Being my likes are so narrow, I didn't buy any kits myself. But I did pick up a few tools -
From Top to bottom - red box is a razor saw from UMM, then the next two are a diamond bit file and then a seam scraper from Volks. Below that is a flexible straight edge for scratching seam lines from UMM. Below that is a handle that came with the set of glue applicators (to the right), and some thin CA glue above that. All from Glue Looper. The two items on the left are 2 sable brushes - also from Volks.
During the Real Space Modelers Seminar, which doubles as a Meet and Greet of the members of the Yahoo Space Modelers Group, they have a grab bag giveaway at the end of the meeting. My son won the Airfix LEM and astronauts. But since he only builds armor, he gave them to me -
Then another man sitting next to me won the Revell Apollo Soyuz Link Up in 1:96 scale. He turns to me and says he already has it, and hands the kit to me. I'm a scale slave, that's not my scale, but as it's a gift I will build it.
Finally the mailman dropped off two packages. One before I left and 1 after, The before box is the Galaxy Quest Shuttle. It comes complete with Berellium spheres, and a base. I have an idea for base and will create something different -
Finally my good friend Paul Gill, from Gillman Products held the kit for me mailing it the day before I came home, so it wouldn't be sitting around unattended in front of my house. It's Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice! I comes complete with a resin copy off the Book for the Recently Deceased. Pretty cool!
EDIT: After I posted, the mail man came with a box from Fantastic Plastic. It's his 1:24th scale Velocipod from the 2004 movie The Incredibles.
Time to get building again! Thanks for looking.

What's New
This time around the mailman has delivered a number of goodies. In no particular order, the first kit is a Harry bust from Harry and the Hendersons sculpted by Mark Van Tine and casted by Gillman Productions. The movie has been out quite a while so everyone should know who Harry is.
Next is another original creation from Skink Haunt. He calls it Stalk Eyed Flies! Below is the box art and the parts -
I was reading an issue of SAMI when I saw they reviewed decals for a NASA version of a C-47. As a builder of NASA aircraft, I had to investigate, and found them on eBay -
Having C-47 decals, I now need a C-47. So when Mega Hobby sent me their newest email newsletter I took a look. They had a number of 1:72 C-47 models but I chose the Italeri version. After building these tiny 1:72 models I was shocked to see how big it really is while in the same scale -
While at Mega Hobby, they had Mobius' Death Dealer in their new kit section. Based on a Frank Frazetta painting, I just had to have this one -
While there I had to pick up some new Vallejo clear coats. I don't know if the old ones I had just went bad, or there was something wrong. Either way they were leaving a sort of streaky, milky film on the kits. So I tossed them and bought new ones. Seems they changed the bottles, maybe the formula changed as well.
Thanks for looking.
