FRankenstein"s Creation Finale

 Thanks for stopping back for the finale. Continuing on, the first thing was to cover over all the veins etc. with some yellow ochre. My "new" usual is to then lightly mist the recessed areas with dome Reikland Fleshshade thru the airbrush. While that was drying I added some blues and whites to the iceberg. 

Next was some dark Black Brown for the hair, and then roughly dry-brushed some cork brown on the dark blue gray jacket to simulate grave dirt. ;) I went back and added some Woodland Senics snow to the iceberg and glued that in place

With the skin dried, I added color to all the little cuts and gouges he had including the scalpel cuts. Going back to the hair I went with the next lighter color brown for a few highlights. He was supposed to have really dark hair so I did my best to show the strands while keeping it dark. The eyeballs were already black, so I added the same yellow ochre for the iris, and then added beige to the sclera. Once dried both colors were lightened and then a black pupil was added with a cut toothpick.  The sutures were colored with V's Duraluminum and with that I was finished. 

It was a very cool kit and a fun one to paint. Plus as someone else said not the same ol' Frankenstein.  Thanks for looking.

 

Frankenstein's Creation

 Already having a few Frankensteins already, I wasn't so sure I needed another. But when I heard Moondevil studio's  John Dennett used Mary Shelley's written description and it was different than the Universal monster, I had to have it. 

The description of the Creation was a very tall man, with yellow skin that was so translucent that you could almost see the veins underneath. He also had black hair and yellow watery eyes.  

Produced in 2016, this kit has been in the stash for quite a while.  The 1:3rd scale bust comes in two blue resin parts and only has the slightest seam line, mostly seen around what I think the the iceberg base. I forgot to take a pic until I had the primer on it. 

 To mimic the veins under the skin I applied the tried and truth method of super thin lines of many colors with an airbrush. 

 

All the lines really hid the super detail that the skin has, so I took some Citadel Agrax Wash and applied it all over the skin. I also hit the eyes with my usual black.I gave the rest of him his base coats - black hair, a green gray jack, and a gray blue iceberg, and with that the session ended. Check back.

 

FRankenstein Finale

 The next session and it was time to cover the splatter. I had some colors in my head. Some worked out and some didn't. In the end most of the splatter was wasted and disappeared under layers of paint. But trying to keep the splatter I have to say that I am improving with my glazing techniques. So I'll count that as a win. 

I wanted him a flesh color, but also remember than in the movies, tho B&W, was supposed to be green. Then the sculpt had a lot of rotting holes and rotted areas. Also the Shifletts' style is pretty free form, and they don't sweat the small details. So I decided to highlight that to enhance look.

I ended up with a light flesh and a green misting glaze. the rotted areas were a mix of brown red and purples. Then some clear UV resin over some wounds to make them still oozing -after all in the story he's only been dead a short time. ;)

Shiflett's Frankenstein

 For my next few builds I decided to get thru some of the smaller models I have laying around. One of them is the Shiflett Bro's Frankenstein. As a patreon of theirs, every so often they offer a figure at discount for the members. I picked this one up a few months ago. 

 Once again I got over eager and started the paintup before taking pics. I've been playing with the spatter technique to bring the skin alive, altho if I thought about it, this would be the one figure who should look the least alive. ;)

Moebius' Frankenstein Finale

 Back again with the finale of the Frankenstein build. 

Painting the monster was a series of back and forths between a flesh color and a pale green. What I also did, with a very thin brush was to paint in some veining and bruises, tho they can't really be see with my crappy photography.  The suit and shoes was a dirty black, and the shirt was a brown.  

Since I got the kit, I really didn't like the way the doorway opened to nothing. I had no intention of creating the appearance of another room, so I took some sheet styrene, painted black, and covered over the door opening.

Moebius' Frankenstein

 This kit was bought when my local model club was having a contest based on kits that originated with Aurora. I remember building the Frankie as well as almost all the other monsters that Aurora released.Then I come to find out that No, this is a new kit. Oh well it didn't really matter as I was one of the judges for the contest and I wouldn't have included my kit in the judging anyway.  Can't go to waste, let's build it. 

The kit is very nice with a big stone castle wall and door as a backdrop. The face was a decent sculpt, but I went with Escape Hatch Hobby's Frankenstein replacement head. Seems I didn't take the "before" pic so here's some parts glued up with the original head.

 The wall/door was also very well sculpted - 

 To change things up I started painting the background/base first. This is just the base coating a lot more paint as well as weathering has to go on...

DeNiro as Frankenstein

This guy has been sitting on my To Do shelf long enuff. I got into it and just started going so there are no WIP pics this time.  I used these two pics as reference -
