Shark Man

A few years ago I picked up this bust at a Jersey Fest (or was it a Resintopia). I have forgotten the sculptor/producer but I'm guessing it's about a 1/4 scale bust.
Anyway, it sat for a long while just in primer -

I figured it waited long enough and started. I first began with the typical squiggles for under the skin -

Then the skin went on -
But I could leave that along and after a few stripes and washes I called it done looking like this. Thanks for looking.

New Aquisitions

edit: This post somehow never got published and is out of order from where it should be.
This time around I have 3 busts for you to see. The first, which is primed, is Jack from American Werewolf in London (AWIL). As you can't miss, this is post attack, and I've already primed him.  Next is David again from AWIL. This is when he's already been bitten and has that wacky dream while still in the hospital.  Finally we have a little alien bust. Why? Because you can never have enuff aliens!
Remember when you think it's not aliens... it's aliens. ;)
Til next time.

Gillman's Rosewell Alien Tribute

This is one of the newer kits from Gillman Productions in my pile. As is often the case, I start with the base.
The spaceship having been painted gloss black has been masked.

Having enjoyed the squiggle technique to make the Dunkleosteus skin more organic, I did the same to the little Alien-

Knowing I wanted to make him a pale gray, I added a little blue to the recesses -
Next I painted the spaceship with Chrome with Vallejo's Metal series. This is good stuff with microscopic pigment (flakes) as compared to both their Model Color and Model Air series. Then the ship is obviously crashed so I sprayed some smoke on to the craft, and up the rock face.

Then a pale flesh from Vallejo's Game Air Flesh set to slightly cover the wormy skin texture pattern. Finally I added some gloss black, and a few white dots to the eyes. Done.
Thanks for looking.

New Aquisitions

This time around I have 3 new busts.  The first one on the left is Jack from American Werewolf in London (AWIL). It obviously shows him post death, when he comes back to warn David. He's already been primed. Then we have David, again from AWIL, post attack, this bust shows him how he sees himself while he's having those wacky dreams while still in the hospital.
Number 3 is an alien. Why? Because you can never have enuff alien kits. ;)

Till next time.

Saucer-naut Santa

Picked up another mini bust from John Dennett. Last year was the Christmas Werewolf. This time it's the Saucer-naut Santa, which he made into an ornament for the tree.
Once I started going I just got into it and  painted away. So no WIP pics.  The "fur" around the hat and also the little poofs at the end of the hat are white glue with a little Woodland Scenics Snow on it.  Nice and easy. Thanks for looking.

A Few New Busts

Lurking around I came across a few smaller sized busts - perfect for a weekend paint up.
The first was from Cadwallon Miniatures. She's named Little Miss Smily (sic). The bust is a little under 3 inches tall as there is no plinth, so you have to get your own. She comes in 5 pieces - the bust itself and then 4 parts that make up her hair.

Here she is, obviously without any hair just yet. The hair in spots sits a little proud of the skin. So I wanted to get the skin painted and then add on the hair.
