When I pulled out CMON's Demon of Souls, I also grabbed their Earth Dragon. I don't know if there's anything in the mythology about it, or did someone in the office just make it up. But there was a pic of it in the art book I bought with the game and he appears as a yellow dragon with green "gems' in the skin, as well as a black and gold head. I thought I took a pic of the illustration but I guess not. Anyway here it is in primer -
This came in multiple parts which were assembled in the factory. No effort was made to fix the seam lines. The other thing was that parts of the dragon are incredibly detailed, while other parts are *very* soft.
I started off with a base coat of an orange color and the black head, planning on going lighter as I went.
Once I started lightening it, I added gloss black for the gems, as I planned to use the GreenStuff World's metallics line. But unlike other metallics who benefit from the gloss black, these paints don't. So I redid all the gems in white. Then once I added the color they really popped.

This is another mini model from CMON's game Rising Sun. I'm guessing this demon is something just made up by the game makers. But in General Oni are:
... born when truly wicked humans die and end up in one of the many
Buddhist Hells, transformed into Oni. They become the ogreish and brutal
servants of Great Lord Enma, ruler of Hell, wielding iron clubs with
which they crush and destroy humans solely for enjoyment. An oni’s job
is to mete out horrible punishments such as peeling off skin, crushing
bones, and other torments too horrible to describe to those who were
wicked (but not quite wicked enough to be reborn as demons themselves).
Hell is full of oni, and they make up the armies of the great generals
of the underworld.
This model is on one piece soft plastic, sort of like the old green, toy soldiers you played with as a kid. I'd rate it a five as some parts of it are intricately detailed, while other details are very soft.
Having heard about CMON's funny business with their Kickstarters, I'm less enthused to paint them. I have two on the table and most likely these will be the last ones I do.
But anyway:
I started out with a green that looked too blue, so once finding the color that more closely matched the pic in the book, I carried on.
A few sessions later I was done. Just a regular paint job, of base coating, washing in shadows, reestablishing the base color and then a few highlights. Thanks for looking.
During today's session, I put the finishing touches on Gary Cooper. For the base I put down some glue and then dusted it with Chinchilla Dust. This is stuff you can buy at a good pet store. Evidently Chinchillas don't use water so they take dust baths. This dust is incredible fine, and works well in many scales. I bought the 3lb jug, and it'll last more than a lifetime.
When it's all dry I painted it with V's Dark Sand. To give a highlight I added a little Ivory to the Sand color. Then I thought it needed a little something, and made a few bullet holes with a drill bit. Filled in the divot with Vs Orange Brown, but that didn't stand out enough, so I added some black pastels to the holes. Don't know if that would ever happen, but... what the heck.
From there I made the wooden frame for the movie poster looked bleached out and again added more glue and dust to make it look like sand blew onto the bottom of the frame. Then looking at the poster it seemed too new, so I mist coated it with matte clear coat to protect the ink, and then aged it with Citadel's Sepia. From there I added a few dust streaks with a pastel that matched the Dark Sand.
I glued the poster to the frame, the frame to the wall and I was done.

All finished with this little mini. It was highly detailed kit and really challenged my steady hands - even with my magnifiers.

With me concentrating on the Nocturna, and Sasquatch, Gary got ignored for a little bit. But here's an update. Gary's done, and now on to the base... Check back for the finale.
When I restarted, of course I had to start up a few kits to keep my time occupied. Another kit was Troy McDevitt's Sasquatch. It is a two piece, 1:4 scale bust (the figure, the base) in white resin. There was only the faintest of seam lines seen across the top of the head, and only one little bubble. Clean up took minutes and then it was a coat of gray primer.
Vs tan primer was the basis for the skin tone on his face. From there I used Vs Black brown, and then 2 successive highlights of lighter brown. Around the face I gave give more high lights of a darkened tan primer, then gave him some mature dignity ;) with some Ivory hairs. That was a little too light and Citadel's Agrax Earthshade darkened it just enough. The face was highlighted with Vs Beige Red and a little added Ivory for the 2nd highlight.
The base was also primed gray. From there I added more Agrax to brown the tree just a little and tie it to Sasquatch. The vines were done in Red Leather, and the foliage was plain ol' green. I then added some Vs Light Slime to weather up the tree and a little more tan on one of the dead limbs to tie it to the bust.
Going back with another tie in, his eyes were also painted green. With that the bust got a matte coat and the base got a satin one. and I was done. Thanks for looking.

I didn't really know what to call this one. I've had it soo long that I don't remember what the title is nor where it came from.
Looking thru some of the fine models at Putty and Paint, I found info for this model that I was looking for. She is Nocturna, from appropriately Nocturna Models. But it is a stunning model with excellent detail. Sadly, she's currently OOP.
I also don't remember how many parts it came in This resin model came in two parts - the figure/base and the top of the cross. Here's the model all primed up.
Here I'm starting to work on some base coating.
After numerous highlights in the skin, dress and hair. I'm just about done with this one. I bought a few plinths from GreenStuff World, so she'll be glue on to this simple one next session. I also used the smallest grass tufts I had to fill in the ground a bit.
