First one is a Vincent Price kit in chariacture form. Looks pretty good, sorta felt like a hollow casting.
As I started working on it, I discovered a few problems. Places where I thought were hollow cast and on the thin side, was really a separation between the outer layer of the resin and an inner layer. As I tried to sand the attached "base" smooth, I quickly broke thru. I pulled the separated parts until I got to solid resin again, and had to fill quite a gap with Aves Apoxie Sculpt (this stuff is great) --
Then looking at the kit a little closer I found a series of nicks, gouges and bubbles. Lotsa bubbles in the hair. Below is a few of the large gouges that I filled with Aves. The bubbles in the hair were filled with Vallejo Plastic Putty --
Finally I got it all the way I want it and then gave it a double priming --
More new kits in the next post. Thanks for looking.
