With the way the "legs" of Friede are, I gave the insides of them a little primer and white spray as once they are attached I won't get another chance to get the inside painted.
Once the paint dries, the next step will be to attach the braces for the legs and to attach them on the body.

Friede - The next step
As with all resin kits you need to give them a thorough was with degreaser soap to get the mold release off the parts. Fantastic Plastic suggests submerging the parts in a soapy water solution for 24 hours. I've always just gave them a wash with some degreasing kitchen soap and an old toothbrush. We'll see how the easier soak works.
So as to show I'm making progress ;-) here's a pic of the parts drying off and showing what the parts look like.
Next step will be attaching the legs and then a shot of primer...

Gonna Try This Again
Busy times have left me little time with trying to do some of my hobbies. But this New Years I made myself a resolution to "try and get one model done every 2 months." so of course Jan. flew by and now I have just a few weeks of Feb. left to get something done. Before I ruin my resolution before it even starts I've picked Fantastic Plastic's Rocketship Friede - http://www.fantastic-plastic.com/RocketshipFriedePage.htm . From the FP site - -
"In 1927, in the wake of his stunning success with his sci-fi opus "Metropolis," German director Fritz Lang decided his next movie would be a sprawling silent melodrama based on mankind's first trip to the moon. To make his movie as technically accurate as possible, Lang enlisted the aid of already-famous spaceflight cheerleader Wiley Ley who, in turn, corralled Romanian-born rocket pioneer Hermann Oberth into the project. The centerpiece of Lang's new feature, "Frau im Mond" ("The Woman in the Moon,") was the spaceship "Friede" (named after the movie's titular character), based on the Modell E rocket from Oberth's treatise "Die Rakete." An extra stage was added to the E, making the "Friede" longer and more cylindrical than its predecessor, but keeping in place the rectangular "legs" that provided support and aerodynamic stability for the spacecraft."
So we'll see you in a day or two as I will post some WIP pics.

Old Lagosuchus Kit
Hi all. Nah there's no one still here reading. Its been too long between posts.
But I dug out an old kit by David Scott tonite. Its the Lagosuchus kit. Info says it 1:1. Maybe so, but to me it's 1:1 only if it's an older juvenile. It looks like 25% too small.
The kit is very clean. No seam lines and only a little flash around the toes. The only real minus I see is the the dino is covered in pebbly skin; but the tail piece is completely smooth. I would think there would have been a little transition between the two skin types and not directly at the separation of the two parts. But it's nothing that a little Aves and some pebble skin texture pads won't cure.
I'm may start this guy any day now. Anyway, here's some pics -

FP & C and D
Sorry to hear that the garage kit co. Fantastic Plastic (FP) got a "cease & desist" from Lucasfilm in regard to their starship models paying homage to the SW movies. Luckily for me, knowing the GK market I bought the ones I really wanted. In the GK world if you hesitate you can definitely lose out.
But FP has a number of other kits based on movies, concept vehicles, or other sci-fi. Check 'em out at www.fantastic-plastic.com .

Random thoughts and a friendly warning.
Hi again, despie me saying that I would post more the fact is that I have not (duh). My latest problem involved the supposedly helpful program Ad-Aware. Fact is that once you run it, it installs a program called aaservice.exe that runs in the background all the time. As it runs it uses between 70 to 99% of the CPU! As you would expect the PC runs super slow and it even crashed my email program multiple times. Thankfully I was able to rid my PC of it. If you have it get rid of it. If you want it - choose something else. My internet security is now with www.CA.com .
Some friends knew that our heating plant died this spring and how we've had to get a new one ($$$), just recently my car started giving up the ghost. And with the Cash for Clunkers program I was finally able to unload it. Even tho I'm happy that the govt is allowing us $$ for our old cars it burns me a little that the $$ are from our taxes.
So they make a big deal about giving me some of my own money back! Anway I did manage $4500 for an $1100 car.
